Quality Oversight Committee

The Quality Oversight Committee is established to monitor initial and ongoing compliance with the standards outlined in the policies, procedures, member agreement, and terms and conditions of StayWell. Members meet quarterly by telephone conference. 

Committee Members

Benjamin Dansie, Senior Director, eBusiness Operations, StayWell Interactive, a MediMedia subsidiary

Board responsibilities:

Assuring that all programming and technology associated with StayWell is in compliance with the privacy and security standards outlined on the site.

Background and qualifications:

Responsible for the day-to-day management of StayWell Interactive which includes leading all aspects of the technical and non-technical development, hosting and maintenance functions. Ben has over nine years of experience in all facets of web development including client management, project management, graphic/user interface design, site/system architecture, implementation, testing and deployment as well as significant experience in website and web application hosting. Ben has held various Microsoft certifications and also attained a Bachelor of Science degree in eBusiness from the University of Phoenix.

J. Stephen McIver, Executive Editor, StayWell Custom Communications

Board responsibilities:

Updating board on upcoming content additions and qualifications of authors commissioned  to create StayWell content.

Background and qualifications:

Mr. McIver edits Health & You magazine and the Starting Out Healthy parenting newsletter. Since Mr. McIver joined StayWell in 1997, its publications and Web sites have won more than 100 awards in industry contests. Mr. McIver also worked for more than two decades at newspapers, reporting and editing health stories in Pennsylvania, Connecticut and Delaware. Several projects he edited won prestigious regional awards.

Ed Rademaekers, Vice President, Editorial, StayWell Custom Communications

Board responsibilities:

Coordinating committee meetings, assuring that all content supplied or contracted for StayWell is in compliance with the standards outlined on the site.

Background and qualifications:

Mr. Rademaekers joined StayWell in 1998. He assumed his present role with the Electronic Solutions Group in March 2004. He developed the original online versions of several of the databases that appear on StayWell. Prior to joining StayWell, Mr. Rademaekers was a newspaper editor and online news executive.

Staff competency development

Annually,  immediately following URAC reaccreditation,  StayWell conducts a teleconference among members of the editorial and technical team members to review changes to all  policies and procedures.

Emergency procedures

We monitor the FDA and CDC announcements on a daily basis.
