What is carbamide peroxide ear solution?
CARBAMIDE PEROXIDE (Auro® Ear Drops, Debrox®, E.R.O® Drops, Murine® Ear Drops) is used to soften and help remove ear wax. Generic carbamide peroxide ear solution is available.
What should my health care professional know before I use carbamide peroxide ear solution?
They need to know if you have any of these conditions:

dizziness

ear discharge
-
ear pain, irritation or rash
-
fever
-
infection
-
perforated eardrum (hole in eardrum)

an unusual or allergic reaction to carbamide peroxide, glycerin, hydrogen peroxide, other medicines, foods, dyes, or preservatives
-
pregnant or trying to get pregnant
-
breast-feeding
How should I use this medicine?
Carbamide peroxide ear solution is only for use in the outer ear canal. Follow the directions carefully. Wash hands before and after use. The solution may be warmed by holding the bottle in the hand for 1—2 minutes. Lie with the affected ear facing upward. Place the proper number of drops into the ear canal. After the drops are instilled, remain lying with the affected ear upward for 5 minutes to help the drops stay in the ear canal. A cotton pledget may be gently inserted at the ear opening for no longer than 5—10 minutes to ensure retention. Repeat, if necessary, for the opposite ear. Do not touch the tip of the dropper to the ear, fingertips, or other surface. Do not rinse the dropper after use; keep container tightly closed.
Contact your pediatrician or health care professional regarding the use of this medicine in children. Special care may be needed.
What if I miss a dose?
If you miss a dose, use it as soon as you can. If it is almost time for your next dose, use only that dose.
What drug(s) may interact with carbamide peroxide ear solution?
Carbamide peroxide ear solution does not interact with other medicines.
Tell your prescriber or health care professional about all other medicines that you are taking, including non-prescription medicines, nutritional supplements, or herbal products. Also tell your prescriber or health care professional if you are a frequent user of drinks with caffeine or alcohol, if you smoke, or if you use illegal drugs. These may affect the way your medicine works. Check with your health care professional before stopping or starting any of your medicines.
What should I watch for while taking carbamide peroxide?
Carbamide peroxide ear solution is not for long-term use. Do not use for more than 4 days without checking with your health care professional. Do not use if there is any discharge from the ear or if you have a ruptured eardrum. Contact your prescriber or health care professional if your condition does not improve within a few days or if you notice burning, redness, itching or swelling.

Where can I keep my medicine?
Keep out of the reach of children.
Store at room temperature between 15 and 30 degrees C (59 and 86 degrees F) in a tight, light-resistant container. Keep bottle away from excessive heat and direct sunlight. Throw away any unused medicine after the expiration date.

CARBAMIDE PEROXIDE (Gly-Oxide® Liquid) is used to help relieve canker sores or other irritations inside the mouth. Carbamide peroxide can also be used for oral hygiene. Generic carbamide peroxide oral solution and gel are available.
What should my health care professional know before I use carbamide peroxide oral topical solution or gel?
They need to know if you have any of these conditions:

How should I use this medicine?
Carbamide peroxide oral topical solution is only for use in the mouth. Follow the directions carefully. Wash hands before and after use. For the oral solution, place the correct number of drops on the affected area or on the tongue, swish in the mouth for 2 or 3 minutes, then spit out. If using the carbamide peroxide topical gel, gently massage a small amount onto the affected area. Do not drink or rinse the mouth for 5 minutes after using the gel. Do not touch the tip of the bottle to the inside of the mouth, fingertips, or other surface. Do not rinse the dropper after use; keep container tightly closed.
