Fruit and Milk Help Weight Control

Eating more fruits and drinking more skim or low-fat milk may help control weight better than a high-fat, low-carbohydrate diet, new research says. A study in 2004 in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition found that people who ate added fruit and low-fat or nonfat milk to their diet were more likely to lose weight or maintain their weight than those who added fat. Fruit juice didn't have the same effect as whole fruit, because fruit juice doesn't contain the amount of fiber that fruit does.
