What You Need to Know
Even though you're feeling better, you still need to take care of yourself. Keep scheduled visits with your health care provider. And have any recommended tests. This way, you can be sure you and your baby are healthy.
Nutrition
Is your body talking back? Even if you eat all the right foods, there still may be times when you don't feel as well as you'd like. Being pregnant can have its ups and downs. But there are ways to make the down times easier.
Exercise
Pregnant women must take special care to exercise safely. Stay cool. Stay off your back. Know when to slow down. Drink water. Warm up and cool down.
Listen to your body.
Second Trimester Tests
Tests during the second trimester range from trying to detect birth defects to determining whether you’re carrying twins.
Special Concerns
Just about everything you put into your body can affect your baby. For that
reason, avoid taking any prescription or OTC medications, vitamins or
mineral supplements without first consulting your physician. Some
prescription drugs, including cancer drugs and seizure medications, have
been linked to birth defects.
